Can I exercise if I have back and neck pain?
Yes, you can! In fact, floor exercises are essential. Lie on your back and do pelvic tilts on a mat, drop your knees from side to side, slowly and circle your knees into chest and around to relax your back.  Drop your head side to side, slowly to relax your neck.
After being sedentary, how many times per week should I start to exercise?
The minimum number is 3 times per week for 15 minutes in the beginning.  Walk for 15 minutes without stopping and gradually increase the time each day as you see fit.  30 minutes, 3 – 5 times per week is optimal, according to the American Council of Sports Medicine. Anything over 5 times per week is great!  Do 30 minutes of exercise 7 times per week to improve your cardiovascular and strength condition and to reduce stress.  A healthy lifestyle includes a good diet and exercise.
How often should I exercise if I want to lose weight ?

A good diet is essential for weight loss. Even if you exercise 7 times per week, but eat too many calories that includes fast food and white flour products such as white rice, white bread and pasta, you will not lose weight.  Weight loss requires a balance of a healthy diet and ample exercise.  See where you can cut out empty calories throughout the day.  Include more fruit, veggies and high fiber carbohydrates such as brown rice, sweet potatoes and quinoa.
